The Silmarillion). It's pretty ironic that his theory is so democratic, entropic, and ultimately quite science-friendly considering he was a devout Christian - and his own epic about a ring was suffused with traditionally Biblical parallels. Just a note of interest! And I'm not sure if 'The Elegant Universe' can be called unbelievably accessible - as a 100% layperson, I do find him much more accessible than Hawking when discussing physics...but I still go into the same neural meltdown about 1/3 of the way into the book :) I'll keep trying.
