A recent article at Ars Technica announced that the free streaming tracks available at social music website Last.fm have resulted in a 119% increase in music sales at Amazon.com. These free, full-length streaming tracks have been available sinceĀ January with a 3-play limit, after which a link to purchase is displayed.
Seeing as though this is a similar tactic used by drug dealers to get people hooked, it begs the question: Is music a drug?
